Registration Preparation
Here are some helpful tips to make sure you are prepared for registration:
- Meet with your Academic Adviser
- Call (248) 370-4567 or visit 221 Varner Hall to make an appointment
- Review your Major Requirements
- Be aware of Important Dates
- "Like" the CAS Facebook Page for registration updates
- Check your SAIL Account for any holds or unpaid bills that may prevent registration
- Log into SAIL and prepare a sample schedule
- Check Advising Unit for Walk-In hours for any last minute concerns

Registration Errors
Here are some common Registration Errors and what they mean:
- LINK ERROR: A2 REQUIRED
- you have not signed up for all the components of the course (i.e. lab and lecture)
- PREREQUISITE AND TEST SCORE
- you must complete the prerequisite courses
- if you have completed the prerequisites but it is not being recognized on SAIL, contact the department overseeing the course
- FIELD OF STUDY RESTRICTION
- you must be admitted into the program by faculty or the course section is restricted to certain majors only
- TIME CONFLICT WITH
- you may not register for courses with overlapping times
- RESERVE CLOSED
- Class is reserved for a specific population of students only
- CLOSED SECTION
- No seats are available in the course

Closed Classes
Want to take a course that is closed? Here are some tips to help get you into the course:
- Check SAIL frequently to see if there is an opening
- Email the Faculty to see if they will allow you to register into the course
- Show up to the class in the first week and ask the Faculty member in person for permission to register
