Registration Preparation
Here are some helpful tips to make sure you are prepared for registration:
  • Meet with your Academic Adviser
    • Call (248) 370-4567 or visit 221 Varner Hall to make an appointment 
  • Check your SAIL Account for any holds or unpaid bills that may prevent registration
  • Log into SAIL and prepare a sample schedule
  • Check Advising Unit for Walk-In hours for any last minute concerns

Registration Errors
Here are some common Registration Errors and what they mean:
  • LINK ERROR: A2 REQUIRED
    • you have not signed up for all the components of the course (i.e. lab and lecture)
  • PREREQUISITE AND TEST SCORE 
    • you must complete the prerequisite courses 
    • if you have completed the prerequisites but it is not being recognized on SAIL, contact the department overseeing the course
  • FIELD OF STUDY RESTRICTION
    • you must be admitted into the program by faculty or the course section is restricted to certain majors only
  • TIME CONFLICT WITH                    
    • you may not register for courses with overlapping times
  • RESERVE CLOSED 
    • Class is reserved for a specific population of students only
  • CLOSED SECTION 
    • No seats are available in the course

Closed Classes
Want to take a course that is closed? Here are some tips to help get you into the course:
  • Check SAIL frequently to see if there is an opening
  • Email the Faculty to see if they will allow you to register into the course
  • Show up to the class in the first week and ask the Faculty member in person for permission to register
  •
