Changes for MCAT 2015
 Proposed significant changes to the MCAT to take effect in 2015 are to be finalized in Spring 2012.
The structure of the new test will include four sections: 

1. Biological and Biochemical Foundation of living Systems
    •  65 questions, 95 minutes
    • "will test the extend to which examinees know how cells and organ systems within an organism act independently and in concert to accomplish these processes." -MRS Fall 2011 Update
    • Suggested courses for preparation: Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry
 2. Chemical and Physical Foundations of Biological Systems
    • 65 questions, 95 minutes
    • "will test the extend to which examinees know the basic chemical and physical principles that underlie the mechanisms operating in the human body." -MR5 Fall 2011 Update
    • Suggested courses for preparation: Inorganic Chemistry and Physics
3. Psychological, Social, and Biological Foundation of Behavior
    • 65 questions, 95 minutes
    • "will test the examinees' knowledge and use of the concepts in psychology, sociology, biology, research methods, and statistics that provide a solid foundation for learning about the behavioral and sociocultural determinants of health and health outcomes in medical schools." -MR5 Fall 2011 Update 
    • Suggested course preparation: Psychology and Sociology 
4. Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills
    • 60 questions, 90 minutes
    • "will test examinees' reasoning by asking them to critically analyze information provided by passages from a wide range of social and behavioral science and humanities discipline." -MR5 Fall 2011 Update
 The new MCAT does not have a writing section. The new exam will test 35% straight knowledge and 65% utilization of knowledge to get a clearer picture of a student's readiness for the rigors of medical school.
